Francesco Folleni Guglielmo, was born on 21 March 1925 in Favaro Veneto. A law student in Bologna, he joined the partisans under the code name “Romolo”, hoping to contribute to the liberation of Italy from Nazi-Fascism.
Not yet twenty years old, he was arrested on 23 December 1944 by the Black Brigades following a tip-off, while he was at home in Vicolo Niccolò Tommaseo, where he had returned because he was ill. After a few days in custody in the Pordenone prison, at the disposal of the German Military Command, he was transferred to the judicial prison in Udine.
From there he was deported to the Austrian concentration camp at Mauthausen, from where he wrote several letters.
After that, there was no further news of him.
