and Remembrance

Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international observance held on 27 January each year to commemorate the Shoah, the racial laws, the persecution of Jewish citizens in Italy, Italians who suffered deportation, imprisonment, and death, as well as those who opposed the extermination project at the risk of their own lives.

On 18 January 2020, through a project promoted by the Leopardi–Majorana High School, the city of Pordenone became part of the widespread, open-air Museum of Stumbling Stones, established across Europe with approximately 110,000 “stones” laid in memory of those who perished as victims of Nazi-Fascist violence.
