On
Tuesday, 3 February 2026, at
11:00 a.m., in the
T. Degan Room of the Pordenone Civic Library, the initiative ‘Adopt a Stone’ will be presented.
The project was created to raise awareness of the Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) laid in the city in recent years, encouraging people to take care of this ‘widespread monument’ and discover the stories and biographies that each stone holds.
Through its students, who become ‘
active citizens,’ the school is committed to
taking care of these local common goods, which are also global goods. Taking care of a Stumbling Stone means taking care of history.
The students undertake to maintain the
decorum and
conservation of the stone, reporting any maintenance needs to the Municipality of Pordenone, cleaning it or perhaps adorning it with a flower on Remembrance Day.
During the event, certificates of “Stone Adoption” will be presented to the schools already participating in the project.
The institutions involved:
- 'Terzo Drusin' secondary school in Via Vesalio (Istituto Comprensivo SUD)
- “Gabelli” primary school (Istituto Comprensivo CENTRO)
- “P. Pasolini” secondary school (Istituto Comprensivo RORAI CAPPUCCINI)
An opportunity for schools and citizens to preserve historical memory.
