Franco Bruni was born in Udine on 10 January 1926, son of Giovanni Bruni and Enrica Sighinolfi, and lived in Ronchi dei Legionari.
In September 1943 he joined the Proletarian Brigade and took part in the Battle of Gorizia. After evading a German roundup, he returned home and joined the Montes Intendance. He was arrested during the roundup in Ronchi on 24 May 1944; after interrogation at the Coroneo prison in Trieste, he was put on transport no. 48, which departed on 31 May 1944 and arrived in Dachau on 2 June 1944, where he was registered under prisoner number 69590. He was later transferred on 25 July 1944 to the Leonberg subcamp (Natzweiler), where he was assigned number 20172, and he died on 15 May 1945 in Bad Wörishofen.
Franco was a partisan member of the Garibaldi Natisone Division, Garibaldi Trieste Battalion.
