Estella Steindler, born in Trieste on 2 February 1875, of Jewish origin, was the wife of Pastor Emilio Luginbuhl, who had led the Baptist Church of Pordenone since 1922.
On 4 April 1944, during a roundup aimed at capturing the few Jews still living in the Pordenone area, she was arrested, despite being over seventy years old, in poor health, and devastated by the death of her husband and of her son Eros, who had been executed by firing squad in reprisal in Split, as well as by the deportation of her other son, Sirio.
She was loaded onto a truck bound for the Risiera di San Sabba, and nothing more was ever heard of her.
Family Register of the Luginbuhl family issued by the Municipality of Pordenone.
