Elio Tambarin was born on 9 May 1896 in Ronchi dei Legionari.
Arrested in Ronchi, after imprisonment in the Coroneo prison in Trieste he was deported to Germany on transport no. 94, which departed from Trieste on 19 October 1944 and arrived in Dachau on 22 October 1944, where he was registered under prisoner number 112777 and listed as a nurse. He was later transferred to Neuengamme and registered under number 62961.
Elio was a partisan of the Garibaldi Natisone Division, Garibaldi Trieste Battalion.
His brother Antonio later became, in the postwar period, the first mayor of Ronchi dei Legionari, appointed by the G.M.A., and subsequently a Senator of the Republic.
