Arturo De Gerard, son of Bartolomeo and Antonia Dalla Nora, had two brothers, one of whom, Elio, was also deported but managed to return. Arturo, a baker by profession, was conscripted into the Artillery and sent to the Yugoslav front in Croatia. After the armistice of 8 September 1943, he was captured, arrested, and deported to the Reich, where he was interned in the Wilsleben Arbeitskommando in Saxony, and died there on 7 February 1944.
