Alfredo Venerus, a partisan and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
He was active in the Resistance within the ranks of the Osoppo Division formations. In order to secure the release of his wife and son, who had been arrested, he turned himself in and was imprisoned in Udine before being deported to the Reich, first to Dachau and then to Neuengamme. He was liberated, but died as a result of the consequences of his internment in the Bassum hospital on 23 June 1945.
